As it's been a while since I last posted something here and it's been for quite a while now, I figured I might as well just go for it.
A lot has been going on, since I last posted.
The highlights included:
* Getting my Prince2 Foundation certificate.
* Studying for CCNP
* Leaving my last assignment
* Getting ready to release Colore
Just read more :)
My
employer expects their consultants to maintain a high level of certification and at least some of the common business practices, like Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and Prince2. I passed my CCNA examn in November and not much later had passed for the ITIL Foundations examn, so I only had Prince2 left.
For those of you not familiar with Prince(2), it's a library of best common practices in Project Management.
Let me assure you this, don't read it for bedside stories, unless you can't sleep! ;)
Prince2 is a toolkit of processes available to ensure projects maintain a high grade of quality and a high chance of success.
If you ever need to do it, good luck! It's not difficult, but it's just getting the theory and mindset that's difficult.
After I had passed that examn, I have now gotten the chance to go for my Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification, I'll try to post about that as well.
Unfortunately, due to cut backs and the global financial malaise, my contract wasn't renewed for my previous assignment, so at least that gives me a bit of a chance to focus on my CCNP at the moment.
Luckily, I am getting back together with a few of the chaps from my previous assignment soon for a nice evening of computer gaming, better start working on the "uber-micro" :P
As for Colore, I'm done with the PHP implementation and currently working on the specification.
It's weird, finally getting it out to the public, after investing so much time into it.
I'll keep you updated.
